For the Randy Pausch video, I got a very good vibe from his attitude through out the whole video. He says several things, one being when he says "Brick walls let us show our dedication". From this statement, I get that in life, there are certain steps that you either go through or do not go through. The "brick wall" lets us know later in life who has done what and who has not done much. Job opportunities open up for the ones who do push the wall until they are finished. College is a good source for looking at "The wall" that people have to get through.
His next quote can relate to the first quote mentioned, as in you can apply it to the first quote. The quote is "Don't Bail: the best gold is at the bottom of barrels". I admire how he has a youtube video with him mentioning to everybody watching to do not stop pushing your self away from your dreams. Anything in life has to have steps to it, and what he is saying is to never bail from any step that can lead you to happiness. These steps are good for me to check myself and see if I really am applying myself all the way in college.
Another important thing he mentions is to "use gratitude" with people. He means by this, to show people your talents with anything if you know you deserve credit. I know that most people do not do this because there are billions of people in the world and I know there is more talent than what I see daily. If everyone applied this step, I feel like more businesses and opportunities would open up in general for everyone.
Another thing I like from his quotes is "Don't complain just work harder". From a thing I learned from this class a few weeks ago, lets me know that this step should be more active in the United States. I am talking about the project assignment I read about how India and China people are so much smarter than we are. That should spike a fire into people, and tell each person to do more with themselves. It seems like people talk more than they do their actions. It needs to be the other way around, which is less talking and more doing. If people use the step "Don't complain just work harder", they will realize that they have a better chance of making more money.
"From this statement, I get that in life, there are certain steps that you either go through or do not go through. " This sentence is meaningless. It covers 100% of all possibilities and is not related to the message Dr. Pausch was trying to convey with his brick walls metaphor.
ReplyDelete"He means by this, to show people your talents with anything if you know you deserve credit." This is what dr. Pausch meant by "gratitude? Hardly!
" I am talking about the project assignment I read about how India and China people are so much smarter than we are. " No, you misinterpreted what was being said in Did You Know? It is a matter of population size. You could say that the 25% of the population in India with the biggest ears outnumbers ALL of the people in the United States with two ears. Being smarter is not the issue being discuseed in that video! I think I commented about this in your first blog post.
This post is not just poorly written. It also exhibits poor thinking and a lack of comprehension about what you watched and listened to.
Unsatisfactory.
